STEM Program

One Sop is on an ambitious mission to introduce and provide our students with STEM instruction starting 2020 year. We hope to accomplish our dream by working with both local and international teachers who are experts in their fields. While STEM is relatively new to Tanzania secondary s, we are determined to build the program one step at a time. Some of our teaching will be provided via virtual instruction in the beginning as we build the program.

Our vision is to introduce STEM in January 2020 at the start of new year, we anticipate some challenges but we will move forward as a work in progress.

In an increasingly networked and technology-driven world, Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) is a must especially for our target students from low income families. The majority of our students at least 95% are the first in their families to have a secondary education. Our students are economically disadvantaged, who have never seen a computer at home. So we see STEM for our students as way for them to get a head start in the technology job market.

The ministry of education has no requirement for s to offer computer studies but the government curriculum has enough look that allows innovation. We want to give our students research and hands-on opportunities as well as preparation for the possibility of continuing with the students in a STEM field, giving our students freedom to explore their passions early.
